pounce question (user auth for connection)

Am I supposed to leave pounce as an open relay for anyone to connect to
and potentially get my account kicked for sending any message they want?

I think I might be misunderstanding this. I got SASL setup to libera
chat, and it is possible to connect to it, but I don't know how to
secure the user side.

Thanks for you help, I probably should have figured that out myself but
felt like I was drinking from a firehose. Thanks for letting me know I
could figure out how to use client certificates too. I Ccd you because
I saw you authored the latest commit on pounce.

P.S. I patched the SSL patch for ii (very simple irc client) to work with pounce/calico SNI maybe you'd
like to know about it so I am BCcing you there on the pounce and suckless mailing lists.
